Wall Street

In Wall Street students learned spreadsheets, graphing skills, and formulas while creating their own stock portfolios and charting their results. Microsoft Excel and Publisher were used to design the “Stock Portfolio Brochure”. The person to make the most money from each class won a free lunch.

Web Writer used telecommunication skills to construct individual web sites. Microsoft word was used to design a multi-page website hyperlinked to the internet. One student created his own action news website.

Multimedia Yearbook

Multimedia Yearbook gave students the opportunity to make a slide show presentation that highlighted pictures and events of the school year. Students created slides, inserted animated images, added text and sounds using Microsoft Power Point.

Flowcharts

Flowcharts allowed students to illustrate the commands and decisions of a process. Microsoft Excel and Publisher taught skills in flowchart shapes, connectors, word art and clip art. Students made a mini poster of their flowcharts.

Knowledge Quest

Knowledge Quest, our present project, develops Microsoft Publishing skills while creating an educational game board. Students learn layout, design, graphics, word art, borders and shadowing. Individual game boards will be printed out upon completion.

Environments

In Environments, students will develop database and research skills using Microsoft Excel and Word. In a database table, students will organize, sort and filter data. They will create a fact book and learn to mail merge their information.

Speech Writer

Our year will end with Speech Writer. Microsoft Power Point allows students to create a slide show speech. They will design slides, change movement timings, and add background images. Students will present their speeches on a projector to other classmates.
