PRESCHOOL
OVERVIEW
We strive to teach each child in a way that reaches their heart, mind and spirit. With that in mind our goal is to encourage faith, wisdom and service.
Preschool
The National Association for the Education of Young Children has stated in their position on good teaching practices for two, three, four and five year old students that young children learn by doing. The best preparation for academic success is a wealth of hands on experiences covering a diverse subject matter at a young age. Our preschool curriculum is based upon this premise. We want to be sensitive to the developmental stages of young children and provide the types of learning opportunities that will stimulate and challenge them. All too often undo pressure is placed on children to achieve academically when they should be exploring rather than studying. Our approach will include many opportunities to explore and experience learning, versus purely academic based pencil and paper worksheets.
VCS preschool is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and The Middle States Association. We comply with PA state standards and monitor its website for child care center guidelines and compliance.
